The long-term objective of SLGAFI is to fund projects designed to support
education in countries disadvantaged by lack of resources, particularly Haiti.
Although all eligible applications will be reviewed, only a small percentage
will be funded. Evaluation criteria such as relevance to education, feasibility,
qualifications and experience of the project director will be considered in the
selection process. It is the responsibility of the applicant to submit a
well-written proposal with emphasis on the milestones, feasibility of the
project and clear statement of impact. Proposals are accepted in English or
French.
Each proposal will be reviewed by a panel of internal and external reviewers.
Funding decision will be made quarterly by the board of directors and a summary
of the funded projects will be published on our site. All evidence of impact of
funded proposals including progress report, site pictures and meetings will be
published.
Equipment requested in the proposals will be the property of the host
institution and not that of the project director nor will it be owned by the
Foundation.
